Animal Control Commission
Review animal control facilities of the borough and make recommendations to the borough mayor and the animal control manager concerning needs. Advise and assist the animal control manager with problems involving control and disposal of animals, and make recommendations regarding the annual animal control budget.

Hearings and Appeals of Dangerous Animal Determinations
- An owner aggrieved by the decision of an animal control officer may appeal to the Animal Control Commission within 10 days of the date of the decision.
- The Animal Control Commission shall set a hearing date within 20 days of receipt of the owner's request for appeal.
- All hearings will be conducted in accordance with FNSBC 4.04.150(B) and 4.16.060.
- EX PARTE CONTACT IS PROHIBITED. Commissioners shall be impartial in all matters, both in fact and appearance. Commissioners are not to engage with the aggrieved owner or witnesses without the other party's knowledge. This includes, but is not limited to, contact in person, by phone, by email, or by text message.
Members are appointed based on their interest in humane treatment of animals, animal control and its related activities (dog mushers, animal breeders, humane organizations, veterinarians, animal owners, etc.) If you are interested in serving on this commission please submit a completed Board or Commission Application Form (PDF).
